Ruby Newman

Ruby Newman has designed and manufactured her exclusive fashions for 20 years for her boutiques in Westlake Village, California.  Her work attracts celebrities and an international clientele.  While on staff at Otis Parsons School of Design, she taught clothing, costume design, and draping.  She was one of five selected by former Curator Edward Maeder, LACMA, to restore antique costumes for their historical collections exhibited nationwide, as well as individual costuming for museum events.

Ruby taught gifted high school students fashion design and draping at LAHS for the Arts, where famed french designer Givenchy was the guest critic for her class.  She served as judge for the Woodbury University Senior Design Project, Los Angeles.

Ruby designed and manufactured her original jewelry sold to 500 stores in the U.S., Canada and Japan, with guest TV and store appearances in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.  Publications that have featured articles about her work include Seventeen Magazine and Chicago Sun Times.
